Dr. Byrd is the only optometrist at Southpoint Vision and Specs. She goes the extra mile to ensure each patient gets her full attention, the time, and the quality care that they deserve!  She has served as an examiner for the National Board of Optometry and volunteered with the Lions Club mobile van to provide vision screenings.  In her spare time she loves traveling and spending time with her family.  Go Heels!

Ruth is the glue that holds Specs together with her unparalleled skills and extensive knowledge of the business.  She has built patient relationships over her 35 years at Specs and is the primary frame buyer.  She is always willing to go above and beyond to help find that special pair of glasses.  She enjoys spending time at the lake and with her family.

Every patient is different and recognition of their physical qualities and how they use their eyes everyday helps enhance the joy of wearing eyeglasses.  I like to understand where people have been, and where they would like to go in their next pair of eyewear.  I like to incorporate their needs into the frame and lens they choose.  I look forward to seeing you in your new Specs!’
